On June 10th I leave Philadelphia to begin a 35 day hike from St Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. My mom and I will be walking nearly 500+ miles. We will be carrying EVERYTHING on our backs. We won't know exactly where we'll stay each night. I hope to be blogging as often as I have wifi access. Follow my blog to see our progress.

Arrived safely
Just letting everyone know that we arrived safely! The bus has wifi (awesome!)so I can conveniently blog on my five hour bus ride. There's already been two crazy coincidences. While we were online at customs we met a student from San Francisco who is also doing the Camino (but will be starting about two days behind us). Then while we were waiting for the bus we met a spainish woman who met her husband studying in Salamanca. Guess where he went to highschool, Haverford! And now we're on a bus with wifi, that's three good signs so far haha :)

ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip you guys! Aren't you starting on Sunday? That's tomorrow! So soon. Good luck you guys! miss you so much! Juju
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and remember to eat high calorie snacks and meals so you don't disappear on the camino. Take care of Mom. I'm worried about how she will cope with one pair of underwear for a whole month and no make up.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited!!!!
ReplyDeleteTake tomorrow slowly. Orisson is not far away, but the terrain is steeper than Philadelphia's!! And, when you use the shower in Orisson, make sure that you are completely undressed and that you have everything ready before you insert your token into the coin slot. All the best to you chicas!
Hey gabby! So glad things have started off with such a positive energy. Remember to hydrate!
